Welcome
My name is Ethan Holwey. I am currently studying for an Undergraduate degree in Information Technology at Oakland University and I am a current
Guest Student at Macomb Community College! The Web Development course I am taking at Macomb Community College (ITWP 1100) is my first introduction to
web development, JavaScript, and CSS, so I am excited to see how my skillset improves by the end of the semester!
As a long-time technology enthusiast, one of my hobbies outside of work/school consists of working on my IT homelab.
Working with my homelab has allowed me to expand my skillset in IT, as well as secure a System Administration internship.
This website will serve as documentation of a few projects I have going.
A "homelab" can mean many things to different people. Some people may have industry-grade hardware mounted in large server racks.
Others may have only low-powered Mini PC's that run firewall software, DNS servers, or Docker Containers.
I initally started my homelabbing journey with an industry-grade server that was gifted to me from Oakland Univeristy's surplus.
However, for the sake of reducing power consumption and noise, I have since changed my setup to include a few Mini PC's and a router with OpenWRT, and an old Desktop PC.
